That is why I have opted to host these shows instead of being one of the featured performers" says Artie Tobia the founder of The Traveling Songwriter's Show. The Traveling Songwriter's Show, has become synonymous with high quality performances by some of the premier singer/songwriters available. Trina Hamlin
who played the Newport Folk Festival last summer along with Ani DiFranco, The Indigo Girls and Dar Williams. While touring acoustically across the country she has played shows with Paula Cole, Duncan Sheik, Ricki Lee Jones, John Hiatt and many others. This summer she will be on the Mainstage at the Faclon Ridge Folk Festival. She has just released her third CD Foundation.

Chris Brown who has opened for many notable performers including Richie Havens and Livingston Taylor. His fourth CD, Go West, has just been released. and with it, he finds himself moving from a cult following in the New York metro area to a more prominent place on the national music circuit.

Erik Balkey who according to Dirty Linen magazine, in their review of his CD Negotiations and Compromise is "a singer-songwriter who has faith in himself. His confident vocal delivery and sparse arrangements frame songs with uncommon poise." He tours nationally and has been heard on radio stations across the country

Nicole Mckenna who was recently featured in Performing Songwriter's Magazine who said... " Nicole's captivatingly beautiful voice is downright awesome". She will also be on their compilation CD, later this year.

Marc Douglas Berardo has been very busy logging miles and building a fanbase all over the Eastcoast. A winner in the legendary Suwannee Springfest Folk Festival Songwriting Competition, he has performed at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, his third CD entitled As you Make Your Way has been met with critical acclaim across the country.

Jenny Reynolds, a Boston Music Award nominee is a nationally touring artist, her work has been featured on ABC , CBS and NBC television; she is also an artist and associate producer of the nationally acclaimed Respond CD (Signature Sounds).

Jeff Twardzik a 2002 South Texas Music Festival Songwriting Contest Winner. Jeff recently opened for Diamond Rio, Dwight Yoakam and Patty Loveless. This Falcon Ridge New Folk Artist brings a welcomed country flavor to the show.

Julia Douglass who according to Larry Flick, of Billboard Magazine..." has pulled off that hat trick rare among songwriters these days. She has written smart pop music for smart people, that is also really fun to listen to. 'In Scarsdale' ( Smirk Records 2002) is a sterling collection of memorable melodies with lyrics that depict thoughtful, touching, amusing and above all, uncannily true pictures of contemporary American life. ...a gorgeous, must-hear recording that leaves the listener hungry for more"

Chris Belden is a man of many talents. While playing some of the staples of the New York City club scene as a drummer for Joe Henry, he turned his writing beyond the world of music and is an accomplished writer of film, fiction and stage. His return to music has been punctuated by his debut CD Songs About Anything, imagine Ryan Adams and Freedy Johnston by way of Leonard Cohen.


Mary Gatchell is intimate, real, and emotional as she brings her own brand of vibrant, funky and sweet music to the show. Singing and playing piano, her compositions and lyrics come to life, which earned her Indie Artist of the Year 2002 and Female Vocalist of the Year for 2002 in The Alternative News (a nationally distributed music and entertainment magazine).She's a bit of Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald and Beethoven rolled into the mix of her own style.


Christina Ward is among the most promising upcoming artists. "Her voice is crafty. The bright lilting quality... masks a simmering energy..." says Perfroming Songwriter magazine. .An innovative lyricist her writing is an honest reflection of emotion and experience. A compelling performer with a strong presence, she grabs hold of the audience with an earthy blend of folk and soul. Her songs have been described as soulful, boasting an organic sound with engaging melodies and gripping lyrics, her rich, powerful voice rising above intricate acoustic guitar lines.

Elza has a world class voice singing voice and songs that you'll hum for days, including "Everything To Me" as heard on "Smallville" on the WB. She is a blend of Joni Mitchell and Paula Cole. The songs are catchy, melodic and radio friendly.

Jenifer Jackson is sultry and soulful as she delivers intelligent, groovy, sexy delicate pop like an atmospheric combination of Norah Jones, Aimee Mann and a sister of Nick Drake. Her songs are full of deep emotion, desire, and hope, and they're performed to perfection.

Peter Calo Peter Calo who is comfortable as an instrumentalist as well as a lyricist, has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. His songs have been heard on the radio, and in film. The Boston Globe said of him..."For some time now Calo has been an underground phenomenon but his songwriting skills, dynamite vocals and blistering guitar have nudged this master musician into the limelight."
